Defense commercial creates courtroom controversy

The Ted Binion murder trial took another step toward sheer entertainment when defense consultant Bill Cassidy created a television commercial to gauge public opinion. On Wednesday, controversy over the ad hit a boiling point as lawyers argued over its fairness, and about Cassidy's role in the trial.

Ralston: Ensign, Berkley leads are far from insurmountable

A poll in the current issue of The Ralston Report shows that John Ensign and Rep. Shelley Berkley "have gargantuan leads" in their races for Congress.

But political analyst Jon Ralston, founder of the 8-year-old newsletter, said Ensign and Berkley are probably as far ahead as they will be between now and Election Day.
